Todays open garden. It’s bordered by a creek and because of the rain some of the garden was inaccessable.

I thought it had come back to haunt us for a second then looked twice and saw you’d posted it, read title again, and remembered that this is the spam free forum, LOL!

I can’t find it but I suspect it’s a Arisaema of some sort. It’s not uncommon in nurseries up here so next time I’ll take more notice.

LOL I thought it had found us for a few seconds and then saw your name underneath it.

———-
I’ve got it here – a summer flowering bulb – a most extraordinary burgundy flower with a (like you say) phallic stamen that looks like a big bean when it matures.
I’ll look up arisaema and see what I get.
thanks – its name has been avoiding me for quite some time.

ok – i’m still looking – they are a weird looking plant group!
that sure is an interesting garden. i enlarged your photos bubba – and down by the waters edge there seems to be a couple of bottle trees growing (bracychiton?).
anyrate i will resume my search for our plant (currently called tiger lilly – we’re hopeless) sometime soon.

I didn’t notice any, which photo?
i’m probably wrong but – img1673 – 5 rows down 2nd from left – two small trees lining the stream on the right
Amorphophallus Henryi is probably our plant
its flower is similar if the stamen turns green – and the photo doesn’t show the mottled stems. I’ll call it Henry until i post a pic next november (flowering time).

Hi Pepper, there is a bulbous trunk that is in the creek itself, and this looks like a Royal Palm. Is that the tree you’re referring to?
btw, nice photos Bubba, looks very lush and green, water restrictions anyone?
royal palm it is then (same as canary island palm?)
do brachychiton grow on watercourses?
thanks PM – and its nice to see the creeks flowing up there again.
I’m not 100% on the Royal Palm, need to see the crown to be sure… although the trunk suggests it could even be a foxtail, but Bubba would be able to enlighten us.
I don’t think its the same as a Canary Island Palm… I thought they were like Date Palms???
mmm very nice visuals bl :)

Sorry but all I know is it’s a palm.
