Anyone know how to change the login password for W8.1. Or more preferable no password. When attempting to change I get a message – This service not available at this time. Try again later.

Should be in here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-8/passwords-in-windows-8-faq
You can update your password regularly to keep it more secure.
If your PC isn’t connected to a domain, follow these steps:
1.
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you’re using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
2.
Tap or click Accounts, and then tap or click Sign-in options.
3.
Tap or click Change your password and follow the instructions.

Mrs V got the free upgrade to the latest – Win 10 or whatever from Win 7. It was painless and she seems to be able to operate it. I’ve had no questions, anyway.

So, I need a “legal” copy of Win 7, so I can upgrade, too.

I upgraded to Win 10, hated it, reverted back to Win 7.
