A research project, led by the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, has identified similarities in the readings from the discs surrounding black holes and young stars, even though the objects have wildly different properties.

Knew that.

Astronomy at 500 frames a second. That’s new. We haven’t seen anything like that since Jocelyn Bell’s discovery of pulsars in radio wavelengths in 1967, and the subsequent discovery of millisecond pulsars.
