I’ll bet the would be jumper is pissed off, why can’t people mind their own fucking business, and stop forcing their “god fucked morality” on non-belivers?

Because the urge to suicide is often a passing phase.

It depends who asks or indeed perhaps what they offer?

Philosophically I agree that someone should be free to jump off a bridge, but if I was driving past I would stop and try to stop them. Unless I was late for an appointment or it would involve doing an inconvenient u turn.

Convenient cop outs; I can’t stop now… “Don’t jump yet! I’ll be back when I can make it”.

Was thinking of me driving across a bridge. The heart would be in it but the traffic mightn’t.

“You didn’t save my life, you ruined my death”

there was a psychology report done a number of years ago that focused on people whose suicide was unsuccessful. Some of them jumped off a bridge and survived. Most of those people said that on the way down they ‘changed their mind’

http://www.businessinsider.com.au/many-suicides-are-based-on-an-impulsive-decision-2014-8

Anywhere from one-third to 80% of all suicide attempts are impulsive acts, according to The New England Journal of Medicine. 24% of those who made near-lethal suicide attempts decided to kill themselves less than five minutes before the attempt, and 70% made the decision within an hour of the attempt.

Suicidal urges are sometimes caused by immediate stressors, such as a break-up or job loss, that go away with the passage of time. 90% of people who survive suicide attempts, including the most lethal types like shooting one’s self in the head, don’t end up killing themselves later. That statistic reflects the “temporary nature and fleeting sway of many suicidal crises,” reports The New England Journal of Medicine.

A 1978 study of 515 people who were prevented from attempting suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge between 1937 and 1971 found after more than 26 years 94% were still alive or had died of natural causes.

Many rare survivors of Golden Gate Bridge suicide attempts recall regretting their impulsive decisions instantly — even as they were falling. A couple survivors who jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge told their stories to The New Yorker back in 2003, like then-18-year-old Kevin Hines who jumped in 2000 after pacing on the bridge for a half hour while passersby ignored him.

Must admit most of my suicide attempts haven’t got past, may as well end it all now.

I still seem to be here.

Nothing wrong with your humour.

That you are having a problem with not hearing us laughing may be another matter which you could be having to deal with. Have no fear.

We don’t have to laugh every time.

Look I don’t give a fuck with how other people die, I hope it is not protracted and painful,l but why do others have a desire to make my death as protracted and miserable as possible? and what right do they have to do this?

My mother tied to put that in those words when I drove in behind the ambulance and found her strapped to a trolley. She said don’t let me die in hospital.
My reply was you could have called me rather than press that button around your neck. I can’t ask them to unstrap you.
