yeah dad said there the best ones.

on the other side of the coin…you can end up with small and hardly tasty varieties from self sown.
i don’t like self sown (apart from curiosity value) as it’s odd plants out in otherwise garden beds growing something else, and you end up having to accommodate the self sown vegie, sometimes compromising a main crop.

Sometimes the fruit of self-sown can be good “cookers”…i.e. as used in cooking…
