Subject: Teeth lacking calcium disease

Hi all

My 4yo boy has a disease of sorts, I can’t remember what it’s called, hopefully someone can remind me?

It’s basically where the body doesn’t produce enough calcium to make strong teeth. He has had most of his teeth taken out and they are starting to implant metal teeth in their place. I didn’t know until he showed me one day about 3 weeks ago.

Any idea what it’s called? It has a simple name as well as a longer, more ‘clinical’ name.

What a shame about his teeth. Has he ever broken any bones? He must be having other symptoms.

Maybe have a read of this.

He hasn’t had any bone problems at all. I checked out Speedy’s link and it doesn’t sound as familiar as I had hoped. I’m not sure that’s it.

I’m quite pissed off at my memory (ie, I don’t really have one). It’s important for me to know what it is but I can’t remember what it’s called, but all I remember is it has a more common name, but a two-worded official clinical name. He has the front few teeth (top and bottom), but all teeth along the sides, top and bottom, have been removed, and over time they’re replacing them with metal ones. He showed me the ones he already has had put in.

There’s no ‘cure’ for it, and when his adult teeth start coming through, he’ll need to go back for more work, most likely to have the adult ones removed as well.

Potentially something like this:

http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/amelogenesis-imperfecta

But neither myself nor bitchface have had this problem. So he didn’t get it genetically.

That’s not very good reasoning

True … if bitchface or myself had the gene for it, it didn’t show up and cause a problem for us. But unfortunately it’s causing a problem for him.

I’ll say it came from her genes, because nothing good ever came from her.

Sorry, I should’ve added the (tic) at the end. Sort of.

I guess the best thing is that you’re not bitter.

Your son came from her.

Plus if you have this much bitterness and hatred towards your son’s mother he’ll pick up on it. That’s unfair for him to experience.

Yeh I know. I’m just being a bit picky. She’s playing him against me at the moment (via sms) and I find that wrong. Her and I don’t talk at all when I’m there.

Be careful it doesn’t rip your dick off and shove it up your arse.

you are well out of it

don’t get too hung up on it

we know some people still down in south morang spitting distance from doreen

they’ve split up once and it looks as if they might be splitting up again – two kids

he goes out from 7am to 8pm because the traffic is so horrific to get back home she moves around between rush hours picking up dropping off kids

enough to see each other for maybe 2 hours and then go to sleep

sad

Are the metal baby teeth removed when the adult teeth start coming through? Or are they pushed out? I’ve not heard of this disease before, hopefully his bones aren’t brittle.

There is an upside, he’ll be popular in movies.

Actually, the metal baby teeth thing sounds very odd to me.
