Sure…. They range from knee high to waist height.

I feed them weekly a solution of worm wee & potassium. As I was just in such a good mood tonight I treated them to the following….along with the rest of the vegies…..

One of those 2 ltr clip on spray bottles (had charlie carp in it once) with worm wee, potassium and seasol. Sprayed it all over the garden vegies and I heard them singing with glee:)

Now for sowing them, I bought small seedlings and planted them out in 13th Sept.

Oh yeah, the 2 ltr bottle was full of worm wee, not watered down at all. Clipping it to the hose would have watered it down beautifully.

good stuff Lucky.
if you increase the speed a bit more for those splashing ducks shots, they’ll come out even better, in my opinion. amount of light being the limiting factor…but 1/500 sec will bring out some more “magic”
keep up the good work.

Getting ready for some serious seed sowing now we’re not going to Sydney.

Beans will be either sown in soil or if the area isn’t ready…in seed trays…tomorrow is right for it, with the moon. As well as apple cucumbers.

Little later on…. leafy greens and root crops.

i’m waiting a couple weeks longer for the corn to get started growing properly, and going to plant the beans between the corn.
i’m happy with most of my soil. dig into 30cm or more with the ho-mi easily, after harvesting a crop. not many clods.
planted out today some of that skinny red onion, which grows quick. also recently planted out pumpkin and melons, which were growing in pots and needed planting out. hope we don’t get any silly cold weather again.
first time i’m trying to grow cucumbers in pots with 10cm mesh rolled up and tied to a stick inserted in the pot. hope this provides a better framework for the cucumbers to climb.

Going from the moon cycles…… corn goes in around 7th Dec…that is when mine will be going in.

Mine mustn’t be moon orientated, it’s waist high! I’ve planted the bean seeds in amoungst, and anywhere else I can find a inch of dirt with a trellis nearby..

I use a fair bit, garlic bread and meals….I just have to grill the elf meat when I use garlic. The gang get some in their mash (worms) and I just don’t want to loose my own supply.

rhubarb look good.
spuds probably need more pigeon poo, water and potash. the yellowy ones are struggling. two weeks to harvest – they will completely die off if you want to wait loger for maximum size.

Have already been eating them as spring onions.
They have seed now. In a few weeks I will have a bag of onions as well. Yes I also have red ones and white ones in separate places but these are brown onions. Tomatoes fill the gaps where I took onions out as spring onions and the capsicums?, well they survived from late autumn plantings.

^ there are also tiny basil seedlings along the front edge.

Tthis is just one small aspect of my garden up against a north wall.. At the back of the patch I have Eremophila species growing to avoid too much watering near the shed and to attract those hundreds of different birds as Eremophila do. There is also an ageing apricot which is a special unnamed variety but it has dry rot and will not last a great deal longer. Have already grafted some babies so as to keep the variety. That tree will have to go which is a shame as it shades my workshop windows. My workaround will be to (after I install extra rainwater tanks) build a trellis over them and allow the Pandora pandoreana I had growing from seed in a pot up Eucalypts in boxes of tubes which I transplanted in behind the rainwater tank at the time when I converted this from an overgrown native nursery to a lawn and a garden. Yes the wonga vine was some four metres in length when I uprooted it from where it had grown through the pot. Most of it died back but I managed to save the important bits. It is now on its way looking for some supports and is up above the windows hanging on to the rainwater supply pipe.

They have seed now. In a few weeks I will have a bag of onions as well. Yes I also have red ones and white ones in separate places but these are brown onions. Tomatoes fill the gaps where I took onions out as spring onions and the capsicums?, well they survived from late autumn plantings.

what part of the world do you live roughbarked?
judging by the globe artichokes and autumn capsicum – someplace without frost and a dry climate.
won’t the onions be green in the centre after having gone to seed?
nice piccie.
you can start your own thread – it means we can find your photos easier if you do – this one is lost in lucky’s copious volumes LOL.

Yes, from ankle to knee, swells up and I can feel every cm of the bone length from ankle to knee.

My niece just contacted me. The fig tree that hangs over their back fence…. fruit is ripe. Bringing some down for me to turn into jam, this weekend.

I’ll give them a jar of jam for doing that in return:)

Very dear to buy at the shops and they don’t travel well…..so I’m stoked if they do get them here this weekend.

if there are 7-8 seed spud per kilo then each seed weighs about 120 130 grams.
a 5:1 return is 600gm
a 10:1return is 1200 gms

so no – but you probably picked the poorest looking one.

Thanks Pepe….. be interesting to see what the others are. They look lovely after the dirt was washed away. Still thrilled with the fact I have harvested my own.
