I just know it as “strange matter”, because it contains strange quarks.
I remember in 1967 at was then the QIT rather than the QUT studying Engineering Materials and we played with phase diagrams of substances , 3D phase diagrams where we would nail the eutectic point where a substance would be liquid, solid and gas all at the same time, that intrigued me.
I’ve still got all those books and papers in a port somewhere.
