The problems with aged care is that “they”, (which is also you and me), and that silly little c*nt at the back trying to hide and pretend he is not here, is that the focus is on how do we keep the buggers alive, for as long as possible, for as little as possible until we have “ milked them of all their assets, rather than how do we allow them to have a peaceful, dignified, and self selected end.
That is your “home work” for the holidays, if you don’t hand it in on time you will have an extra hundred years added to your life span.

For as long as the blue-eyed Shaw sisters can remember, they knew that their parents planned to one day take their own lives.

I wouldn’t worry about it

people cannot take their money and possessions with them when they die

so why worry about it

Some people prefer that their possessions go to their children, or to their chosen charity, rather than than to the shareholders of a corporation that runs care facilities.

try and keep your heart in good order – this will help immensely

smoking is a good way to make you fall off your perch faster

my father was a heavy smoker – he made it to one year off retirement

if you are a heavy smoker you probably shouldn’t bother with super annuation

Having recently dealt with age care for my mother, I totally agree. Avoid everything except public hospitals (which are essentially free) and watch even those like a hawk. Remember what I said earlier about palliative care. Avoid all nursing homes.
