How do I access the dark net? It is a large interconnected underworld domain with just one clandestine point of entry, or is is a collection of cells, all going about their nefarious businesses, each requiring their own specific procedures for entry for each portal?

Supposedly using the Tor browser which tries to anonymous your presence. I assume you do a search and it gives you a list of what you are looking for, haven’t tried it though so could be wrong

In the dim distant past, long before Google existed, it was accessible by directly typing the IP address of the server you wanted.

It still is. If you type http://72.14.182.193/forums/holiday into your address bar you’ll get this very forum. Some of my urls have an entry in my /etc/hosts (in windows c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) file, because lookups are much quicker.

If you really want to go underground you would need to be invited.
