When I said, think like an American, The RevD said no such thing existed.
The Pope needs to have the separation of church and state explained to him.

Even Trump didn’t pick up that tidbit.

He hasn’t crossed that line. He has marked the line across which a person cannot claim to be christian. A person cannot question an individuals political beliefs. The pope has every right to describe minimum christian standards.

Well his isn’t going to describe fundamental extremism.

Well his isn’t going to describe fundamental extremism.
You don’t think he is arbitrarily ruling extremism out?
and i doubt the separation of church and state even comes into it.

Give unto Cesar the things that are Cesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.

It does if there is a fence involved.
Trump isn’t even slightly christian and everyone knows that.
separation of church and state is an internal matter.

He’s simply hiding behind his position to say that Trump is a dickhead.

Sometimes you don’t see the obvious funny sides.
sometimes i ignore it.
MT says Bill Shorten will make your home worth less and Short for William says that MT will make your home cost more.

Not so. He is saying he is un-christian. He is simply defining that his beliefs and promises are not confluent with his claim of being christian. Even the church would not claim to be the regulatory body on being a dickhead. Maybe that is what Trump can oversee………

So, the Pope is playing politics from the Vatican. What else is new?

No. He is ruling out the bad example Trump sets as being christian. He is ultimately responsible for the behaviour of members of the church. If he points out someone is not christian it removes the churches culpability from the actions of an individual and defines the actions of the individual as against policy. Two birds with one stone. It is unfortunate for Trump the pope holds an accepted office of influence and is required to make these distinctions while the distinctions Trump makes are purely to plump his own popularity. That is not the doing of the pope either.
The objective of a wall is to keep illegal immigrants out.
It’s the same objective that Obama currently has of a fence patrolled by armed guards.
It’s the height of hipocracy to criticise one and not the other.
The Pope’s out of line and is dabbling in domestic politics.
He’s out of line.
End of story.

Trump is attempting manifestation of president. He believes he’s already holding office. Listen to the words he said. Yes, the Pope is correct to inform the rest of the Americans that Christianity isn’t coming into it.

funny thing is that the americans hated the berlin wall and the jews hated the walled ghettos and now both lots want to build their own.

Each religion acts like a private courtyard.

Pope John Paul II also hated the Berlin Wall but we’re not allowed to talk about that.
Most of the Berlin wall was a fence patrolled by armed guards.

Beats Boris to the punch :)
imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
Wouldn’t one use the trebouchet to fling mexicans and muslims against their wall? Maybe that’s more Tarantino than Trump…….

They have tunnels. That won’t work.

Clergy of the church wanted to be all authoritative above the government or any local social hierarchies, the clergy wanted to be law, enforcement, Jailer, boss of the court, prosecutor, judge, executioner, it changed with the local politics, their behaviour was more abusive, almost like ISIS, in some ways.

Becoming the thing you hate is probably a pattern in history that repeats itself continously.
