I won one of their shirts at a concert one night.
They invited the crowd to “show us your bits” for a free tshirt (mainly aimed at the younger females in the crowd…
The looks on their faces were priceless when a fake leg got lobbed up onto the stage….
We already had a thread exactly on this topic

Same could be said for “Chat” or, for that matter, Dawn/Ceres or any number of subjects…

Chat is a special subject but you’re damned right about Dawn/Ceres
I very much doubt that anyone reads old “What music are you listening to” threads.

Sometimes I flick through them to find something new.

You know me, I’ll click on anything.
I use it in the same way and as a place holder for things to check out when I am able i.e. not at work…

Maybe you should go on the stage.
But no, a comedian with a fake leg, it would never work.

Some people might and discover they have similar music tastes to another poster.
Most of the music I listen to no one else has heard of so I can’t talk to them about it.
Sharing music is good its a catharsis as times

Strange how that happens.
mrs mollwollfumble, piano improvisations (not jazz) on popular tunes, last night.
I must put some of that on youtube.
Tomorrow I’m going to an all-day Mendelssohn concert in Hawthorn. I’ve been suffering from a dearth of live chamber music.
Mendelssohn might rank as the classical composer who has produced the least amount of total rubbish: Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Wagner, Debussy, and nearly all modern classical composers have produced a large amount of total rubbish.

If you’re up to a trip to Hobart in July, my uncle has written a chamber opera called Death by Defenestration.

Shocking how little I recognised. Mendelssohn had a vast sense of humour, even more than Mozart did, but he did write a lot of rubbish.

The piece would be either a straight musical transliteration of the title or humourous. The original “Little flower of spring, dwelling bashfully by the brook’s damply sweet brink” is built like a brick shithouse, chain smokes foul-smelling cigars, is not averse to using blue language where appropriate, and has a heart of gold.
Some album, with one copy, sold to the “most hated man” in the whatever…
And the connection is?
Moving on…
Don’t know how I survived
The crew all was chewed alive
I must have slipped between his teeth
But, oh, what providence
What divine intelligence
That you should survive
As well as me
It gives my heart great joy
To see your eyes fill with fear
So lean in close
And I will whisper
The last words you’ll hear
Unemployment at a record high
People coming, people going, people born to die
Don’t ask me, because I don’t know why
But it’s like that, and that’s the way it is
Hear the drummer get wicked…
