Subject: Two politicial questions

(1) President Donald Trump. Surely not. Not even in America. Are there really enough rednecks, ignoramuses, Klanists and general fuckwits in the USA to elect this arseclown as president?
(2) Why is Germany opening the doors to millions of immigrants from the middle east? Is it a misguided attempt to expiate the sins of the past, or some other agenda? There are already signs that this is going to result in huge social disruption.

These questions trouble me.

Germany has a long history of accepting immigration from the middle east, mainly Turkey to be exact. One reason for the open door is that Germany genuinely needs more workers to man their growing economy.

There are still many hurdles for Trump to jump through. so its still too early to say.

I would think that once Iraq and Syria calm down, a lot of those people will return, and a lot will stay or go elsewhere.

This. Yes.

Trump has shot himself in the foot over the past day or so. Think his run will run down now.

That man must have a foot of steel, or perhaps a bullet-proof boot.

1) Unfortunately yes. :-(
Can’t stand Trump, he’d make the worst president since Hoover. I’m not all that keen on Hillary either, all I can see behind those eyes is a completely vacant space.

2) It’s a simple equation. Every time you send troops into a country you get refugees from there coming back into yours. Every time without fail. Have a look at the origins of immigrants to every country and you’ll see the direct connection.

I think he is a bit of a hot head, and as a racist he is really not fit to be President.

Except that the West including Germany did everything possible to avoid getting involved in another middle eastern conflict. The Syrian refugees were rushing wets well before the west started bombing ISIS and as far as I know there are no German troops in Syria.

Exactly. If anything the West could be accused of inaction in Syria.

TRUMP: “So the spick president told me there is no way Mexico will pay for their wall, even though everyone knows they have more drug money than us. So I told him, when I’m President the US is going to sue your ass.”

“But I’ve come up with another genius Trump. We can move the Hoover Dam. It’s already built and they need more water down there anyway. Building trucks is cheaper than big walls. So we’ll just move the Hoover Dam down there on the back of trucks. Easy”

“The best thing about this plan is instead of arresting spicks who try to climb over it, we can just open the sluice gates and send them home in a hurry. And they’ll thanks us cause it will be the first bath they have had in their lives.”

If it ever settles down, which looks unlikely.

Anyway, they aren’t all Syrian. Many are from Afghanistan and Iraq, Germany was in those places?

More specifically, as a buffer against their ageing population. Germany’s birth rate is significantly lower than its death rate

It seems likely that the answer is, no, there really are not enough for that to happen. Polls indicate he is enormously unpopular with voters in general.

Hmm, I got the impression that the polls suggest that if he was up against Saunders he would lose, but against HC he would win.

Do polls in America also take into account that they don’t have to vote? A lot of people who don’t like him might not vote but a lot of people who do will…

Then again, maybe he will turn so many off the concept of having him as POTUS and will get out of their armchair for the first time in their life to vote him out.

There’s a bit of scatter in the polls but mostly they indicate HRC has a decent lead v DT.

What are some examples of the Western intervention in Syria, as compared to say Libya?
