Subject: Flaming Drones II

I’ve rehashed this topic after coming up with a few questions that would be relevant to the project of establishing a Drone laser-tag series or two.

First I will ask if there is anyone here interested in fighter-sims? I’ve found Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2 is a highly realistic simulator with online multiplayer options. Microsoft has bought the franchise and developed Flaming Cliffs 3 for Win10 but I am yet to update to this. Anyone interested or experienced with setting up an online multiplayer server?

Drone laser-tag may be viable as a small business similar to the currently available laser tag but vastly superior provided a few basic issues are addressed.

Rental drones would need to be rugged enough to take knocks and bumps. A customer who rents a drone would be liable for damage but if the rentals aren’t able to take a regular hiding they would not be a good option for customers or vendors.

The racing drone circuits use on-board cameras fed to headsets to provide the controller accurate feedback. To facilitate laser tag significantly would require some sort of radar interface. This would be most obviously applied to team coordination but in a one-on-one circumstance this might be applied so that drones within a 360 degree line of sight are made visible on your heads-up but obstacles block a signal, unless one employs a ‘peek-round-corners’ option to allow for a degree of stealth to be applied to planning.

Carpark complexes and unused industrial sites would be ideal gaming grounds.

If anyone can discern other difficulties that might arise or options that could be included in the concept feel free to post.
