I don’t want to say too much because as per usual, I’m more interested in what others have to say. I simply thought the statement was slightly incongruous even within the context of the example.

What say ye?

They say that the extra CO2 makes the THC pick more stupefyingly awesome.

All of the factors mentioned in the article are well known, and have been included in the IPCC’s impact studies from day 1.

The overwhelming consensus is that the overall effect will be negative.

Again a ntable bit of cherry picking…

< Developed countries may be able to ride out the worst effects of food shocks, warned Prof Benton, but there might well be other, significant impacts.

“In a sense what we’re living with Isis today came out of a spark that came from food price rises,” he said.

A quote from one of the few forums I visit:

OK… I had to make a presentation for a 7th Grade science class on Climate Change…and disease.
So Here’s the points of the slides. I DON’T see how anyone with 2 neurons can deny the connection. The 7th graders understood it ! I had illustrations incl. movies of tornadoes and hurricanes.

WHY we have Climate Change:

Slide 1: Where does ALL the energy on earth originate?

Slide 2: Answer : the SUN ! (most of the kids KNEW this!)

Slide 3: SO SUNLIGHT is ENERGY !

Slide 4: The earth has been around 4.5 Billion years ! . . . collecting Light energy !

Slide 5: For Millions of years it was a slow, balanced process ! That energy which is not trapped, escapes as heat !

Slide 6: Plant life traps sunlight {energy} !to make cells and grow ! (most of the kids KNEW this!)

Slide 7: Animals trap sunlight {energy} by eating plants !

Slide 8: This has been going on for a few Billion years ! . . . All that Energy TRAPPED !

Slide 9: Over Millions of years, some of that TRAPPED Energy was converted to oil, gas, and coal ! (most of the kids KNEW this!)

Slide 10: Today, We’re releasing all that TRAPPED Energy ! Billions of Years worth !!
70-80% of all energy in gas, oil, and coal is lost as heat, and only 20-30% is actually converted to “WORK” !!

Slide 11: How can you burn all that fuel and not produce considerable HEAT !! It’s like putting a torch under the planet !!

Slide 12: And NOW, the heat can’t escape fast enough !

Slide 13: So Global Temperatures RISE ! (14 of last 15 years, hottest on record*) * (>800,000 years)

Slide 14: With all that Extra HEAT, tropical regions expand ! …. AND so do Disease ranges ! Zika !

Slide 15: So RISING Temperatures mean more than just rising oceans and more severe weather !

Slide 16: It may mean more tropical Diseases ! . . . IN OUR BACK YARD !!! (USA)

Slide 17: NOW, can you see WHY Climate Change is so threatening to our way of life ? eek

Finis

IF you can’t follow the LOGICAL progression step by step, you’re either (1) a moron or (2) in total denial of science…or (3) I guess you could be a oil / coal company stooge or employee. laugh
It is really UN-deniable.

BTW_ I didn’t want to get too convoluted in theory and laws, and so I didn’t even bring in the CO2 effects. That’s another BIG factor, but I wanted to make this KISS ! Had I had more time, we could have gone back and thrown that into the fray.
