Heaps.
I’ve just got off the phone from Pom. Her daughter and family are OK. They were at a nearby shopping centre when it hit and said it was terrifying. Then they couldn’t get home because of trees and power lines down, but their house is fine. The garden’s shredded, they’ve got no power and I just saw on the news that they have to boil their water.

Thanks for That Bubba
The Courier Mail’s got a pretty amazing collection of photos online. Some stunning ones of the cloud formations and lighting.
Just to clarify, ‘cause I was confused … the reason people in The Gap are being told to boil their water is ‘cause the roof of the local water tank collapsed, so their supply is contaminated.

It’s a bit more than a “tank”. LOL
Thanks to you Bubba for keeping everyone informed.
The Gap area of Bris definately had some type of tornado/storm. As Bubba said daughters house was safe and they weren’t hurt but the whole event has left an invisible scar that will last for years.
They’ve had no power since the storm and it’s easy to imagine the difficulties of trying to lead a normal life like that. Plus she is 7mths pregnant so the emotions are a bit raw as well. So many people are suffering many more difficulties than my offspring but once a Mother always a Mother. Anyway they are heading up to stay with us for a few days till things calm down in their area.
They have the Army, trucks, fire engines, police, SES and emergency services personel running up and down their road 24hrs a day. The nursiing home a couple of doors away has big generators running 24/7. Sleep in near impossible.
If nothing else they will be able to get a warm shower up here, some peace and quiet and some sleep.
Poor things sound like they need some pampering.
If they need replacement plants send them this way.
I don’t think they have lost much in the way of plants. Trees on their footpath have lost branches never to be seen again.
Did you happen to see the pile of green waste that has been collected and dumped from their area, on the tv tonight? It is a mountain. No kidding. It’s huge!

Yes, I did.
The whole thing has been a bit of an eye opener for everyone. When we had a tornado thingy at Dayboro nobody even knew it happened.
