Much as i want a flying car, i don’t want a flying car.

Life on the roads, where stuff can currently happen in only two dimensions, is risky enough.

Are we really willing to let P-platers loose in an environment which could have them crashing through your roof at any moment of the day?

I’d only trust an fully automated system I think.

My guess, it wont happen for the general population unless its automated drones doing the work, in built up areas.

I saw TV programme with Richard Hammond, where he road in a truck which was guided by computers and a laser camera that sampled the surroundings 30,000 times per second or some such.

Navigated an obstacled road without a hitch.

I thought then, “truck drivers, your days are numbered”.

there’s already a fully automated robot truck fleet at some container port in Singapore that shift shipping container about more efficiently than humans. Some containers can be 30 tons.
