Yes, and they are of course much worse than the trivial sort of accidents you get from people driving through red lights at high speed.

I say we ban red lights

lol.
read what was written
But of course banning red lights does not remove the root cause of rear end collisions which is sudden braking.
Ban brakes I say.

I know the 60kph limit on the Kuranda range causes accidents or near accidents. The road is too undulating & twisty to monitor your speed properly.
If I have to drive it more frequently I intend to buy a Heads Up Display so I can watch both the road & the speedo.Yes, and they are of course much worse than the trivial sort of accidents you get from people driving through red lights at high speed.

what kind of car do you have Tamb?
I do a lot of highway driving so I have the speed alert set to 00kph and the gps alert set to 110kph, that way i know if I stay between the 2 pings I am about at the speed limit without looking at the speedo

there is this short stretch of road where there is a rail crossing
100km road limit but 80km limit at the rail intersection
I had a tail gaiter like a few meters away
its not a good feeling when putting on the brakes to slow down to 80 when you are tail gated

Mitzi Lancer. No speed alert. It would be a handy thing to have & probably better than the HUD as they are GPS dependent & the hills, trees etc would probably mask the signal.
what year lancer?
many cars post-2000 have them, you just have to dig through the manual to find out how to activate it.
eg, on my 03 falcon, if you hold the radio ‘mode’ button for 3 seconds it turns it on

Keep your speed constant with one foot while activating your brake lights a few times with the other.
Yes, good idea to hover the other foot on the brake with tail gaters

unless you are used to left foot braking, it is never a good idea to hover your other foot over the brake pedal. if you are to prepare for a stop, you should take your foot off the throttle and hover that foot over the brake

a lot do, they got extra ANCAP points for having it, so many manufacturers included it, but it was more of an afterthought

No. Speed reduction signs do. Hence my plan to recruit a large number of people to remove stupidly slow speed limit signs.
What a fucking arsehole.
Come on, dv, don’t be so circumspect. Speak your mind, man!
Send these dickhead bozos to talk to people disabled because of red light runners, or the families of those thus killed. There’s worse things in the world than a fucking ticket.
tail gaters at 80 km slow downs from 100km
in fact any speed reduction, still have tailgaters
might install a flamethrower or some other kind of deterrent

Needs updating to finger print engine start button
The people of this area DGAF about red lights, let alone any silly cameras.
Apparently a light that is amber means….keep driving through…you’re okay!! If it has just turned red….go for it!
Biggest bunch of fucktards to walk the earth.

There’s something about the motor vehicle that encourages sociopathy.

Do Aston Martins have finger print start buttons?

There’s some issue between state roads and local roads or national roads or something and collection of the fines.
Also people thought their rights were being impinged upon.

I drove as passenger with some P learner who went through two red lights just after the amber
Never again as a passenger

I have a solution for tailgaters, keep your left foot on the accelerator and gently touch the brake pedal with your right foot to bring on your brake lights. Tailgaters think you are slowing down and hit the brakes. Sometimes I even accelerate away with the brake lights on, that really confuses them.
