as much as i dislike a lot of the fairy waffle in some of the biodynamic literature, i’m going to have to join the biodynamic association (yearly membership) just to get my hands on their potions, which are only available to members. hope to further improve the soil and related micro flora.
any opinion on the topic welcome.

I’d be interested on your opinion of how well their preparations work.

supposedly according to empirical tests, their soil has much increased organic matter and micro flora. actual yield increase on average (as it varied a lot) was 20% or so. i’ll see if i can take some snapshots of soil before, and well after application, of their magic potions.

ah yes – but once a member of this elite gardening club – will you be capable of impartial judgement of their products?
they follow up their B500 (?) treatment with a quarzite application – some form of crystalised fertiliser – how the heck can that be analysed?
- bentonite, waterforms, aerated compost tea – if these products are mixed with expert organic practices the results are going to be attribute to any single influence.

true, true. but as long as it’s a marked change for the better. i’ll be satisfied with that.
btw i think you were referring to 501….which is the “winter” spray, for increased light uptake by plants. it contains silica. i think the real benefit from silica—which is not a required micro nutrient—is that it makes the plants less susceptible to damp and associated bacteria/fungi, during winter cold and sometimes wet.
my plan is to use the 500 for summer and the 501 for winter, without getting too much into all the fairy pseudo-science/art.

I’ve actually had my hands on their potions .. which by the way you can make yourself// it is easy enough to mimic nature.. Iv’e never failed yet.

However I don’t actually practise any faith healing kind of gardening unless if you consider… water it and have faith it will have got the amount of water it needs.

biodynamics however does have much to teach a farmer or gardener if they just seek the parts that suit themselves.

One doesn’t really have to join the church .. so to speak.

but in a nutshell yeah.. it works.
