I have always suffered fools lightly on the premise that if you challenge them too much they will just go round in circles not learning anything. When people play me for a fool I simply go about methodically dismantling their pretence until they either grow some respect or cease and desist.

I want to say “go see a doctor”, but not only doesn’t she talk to me, not only doesn’t she let me overhear anything she says or is listening to, she doesn’t even let me see her at all, or move ANY item in the house outside her room. Is there anything I can do?

Her family is required to authorise observation in the case the police do not have cause to over-ride. Other than that I can only suggest thinking of anything you might know about her likes and dislikes to maximise or minimise any peripheral interaction she is exposed to so that she knows you are looking out for her in as many ways as are unobtrusive and constructive. If she cannot work it out on her own she will only go to someone who will give her patience and the benefit of the doubt.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with a wealthy person such as Jodie Foster opposing the upward redistribution of wealth. Billionaires Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, George Soros and others all support efforts to increase taxes on the rich to aid the poor.
