I have a strong objection to the term “Anger Management”. It is not accurate and is automatically derogatory and defamatory in court, for instance. The truth of the subject being addressed is non-resolution of fears, which is the underlying cause of so-called “angry outbursts”.

Obviously it is the ultimate responsibility of the individual to ensure this is addressed within their own character development. Given that not every child has parents who have functional awareness of fear resolution it is only elitist to justify titling the associated learning materials as they have been, IMHO.

My original solicitor was let go because he refused to accept my side of the story, essentially demanded I plead guilty if he was going to represent me and advised I should complete an Anger Management course to mitigate the inevitable sentence. Needless to say my eventual representation looked on this advice with scornful contempt though they had enough manners to avoid stating this directly.

And incidentally, placing the entire onus of responsibility on the most distressed involved in a dispute is markedly cruel.

I barely had a defence. My Barrister simply pointed out that not 1 in 4 of the statements from hotel staff matched another and told completely different versions of key points. The statements did not even match the limited cctv recording so even though the learned prosecutor waffled and supposigested there really was little other result inevitable for the jury, though they did take their full 8 hours to consider the prosecution’s case. My suspicion is the police on the scene knew the staff were covering up what really happened and decided it was worth putting me through this to get them on perjury because I took a slightly different path to notifying them than is considered polite.

My solicitor made that obvious as being a factor by referring to something that occurred a long time ago that I had thought entirely off record.

I’ve been quite impressed with the quality improvement within police performance since the 80’s. They weren’t this nice when Joh was still around.

I am starting to feel some sympathy for the mother. And confirming my opinion about stories from one source/side.
