A magnificent website. This bloke has done very well for himself. Raised $350k for a brilliant invention.

So it screens out the frustrated water, jolly good.

Plus $75 delivery does not fill me with a great deal of confidence. There are plants and animals that do a similar thing of extracting water from the air, but in these situations you usually have a mist, so copious amounts of moisture is assured. Seems to be asking a lot to produce much water from such a small collector. So I’m out.

The stillsuit the Fremen used in Dune seems the way to go in dry environs. I also liked their dew collectors.

The Freemen still-suits was made to recycle every bit of moisture exuded by
the body which under normal circumstances, would be lost into the atmosphere,
The dew collectors worked on day/night temperature differentiation neither of these
principles seem to apply in this “Self-Filling” technology seeking investment infusion.

For those not following the bouncing ball…it is a scam. Either that or the bloke developing it cannot do some simple calculations.

I totally agree.

Air conditioners and refrigerators already collect lots of water from the air, but the electricity required for the collection is rather a lot, so is the cost. People generally don’t drink this water because of fears of contamination – it’s nowhere near as clean as rainwater, I’d expect contamination levels of the order of 20 to 200 times as high as in rainwater.

A water collection system similar to the Fontus one appeared on “Pimp My Ride”. This appeared in Season 5, made about ten years ago.
