I’m sure someone gave instructions for this recently, but I don’t know where. Might have been in Chat. Anyway, I want to turn off updates on the laptop that I use for travelling because I use the wireless dongle and it chews up the 500MB far to quickly.

Can someone give me instructions on how to turn off the auto update please. I know how to do it in 8, but 10 confuses me.

setting>network & internet>advanced options

that will turn off all update. windows defender, flash, malicious removal tools, win10 updates.

I have mine off and last night, being the end of the month for me, i downloaded all the stuff as i had gigs left over.

Life’s tough when your dongle can’t handle things.

Thanks. I went off to watch Rake. I’ll get back to this task over the weekend. Too late to do it tonight. The lappy isn’t set up at the moment.

What!? It’s possible to turn off updates! Then perhaps it is worthwhile switching to Windows 10.
