sat down at the airport charging phones

I hear a sneeze – I look up

young Caucasian male 6 feet from me ,it could be a one off sneeze right?

then I look again,

he’s wearing shorts and a football t shirt whilst everyone is rugged up

football , alcohol , doesn’t take care of himself

he’s sick

I move away and he’s periodically sneezing and coughing the dirty prick not covering his mouth or bothering to get a nose wipe.

when you see the signs – stay away

the place I’m going to is plagued by sickness at the best of time and gastro, food poisoning , colds , flus and a whole bag of sickness from hand foot and mouth to measles rage across the city due the high level of a certain section of the community who have zero hygiene and die off decades earlier than anyone else.

I can hear tall them coughing around me now

Think yourself lucky you’re not at Heathrow, where all the passengers are held in the same small room (more tightly packed than on an aircraft) and not allowed to leave.

PS. I find that March is worse for sickness around here.

Apart from what is stuck to their wristwatches, I hardly encounter many people at all.

I’ve worked at Heathrow as a kid , you get sick all the time there

on of the border security fellahs told a story about some African bloke that fell dead in front of him ( some kind of deadly disease that was about to walk into the country )

Going to have to see the GP next week which will mean mingling with diseased people in the waiting room.

Oh, for goodness sake. How is your immune system ever going to be strong if it is never challenged?

and wear a face mask, ideally a yashmak. And keep a positive mental attitude.

More seriously, there are two nearby “medical centres” that I could go to. One requires pre-booking, has a small cramped unfriendly waiting room, and charges more. The other is walk-in only, has a large well-spaced waiting room with few people in it (because waiting times are small), has a quarter of the waiting time, and bulk bills. It pays to shop around.
