MeerKAT radio telescope

Although the MeerKAT radio telescope has only just entered initial testing, early photographs have already lead to the discovery of 1,230 new galaxies.

MeerKAT, once completed in 2024, will be the largest and most powerful radio telescope in the world. It will eventually be composed of 64 individual antennas, each with a diameter of 13.5m each. It is being developed by South Africa’s Department of Science and Technology.

And then it becomes self aware…

And then it becomes self aware…

What can it do? It can’t focus close enough to peek in any windows.

Actually a self aware telescope is not such a bad idea, consider if you give it an ongoing energy source, sensing devices, process of information, storage of information, ability to analysis information, and the ability to suggest ways that it could improve itself across all components, the ability to make discoveries, self awareness, the ability to communicate with it, it would have 100 percent focus on the job

also the ability to self test while a project is ongoing, and the ability to predict failure of critical components

you could have thousands of astronomers, physicists, scientists logging in, suggesting improvements, suggesting research directions, it could be linked to all major telescopes around the world, it could use quantum computers and the latest supercomputers to do number crunching and analysis, it would not need to know about humans, politics, military stuff, it could also be accessed by phd students etc

It could develop a better overall picture of the universe.

It would probably like to be treated in this manner

A lot of information is fragmented, existing in papers in electronic form at universities and patents at patent offices around the world.

Ways would be looked at to bring in fragmented information that exists with papers and patents, speeches, books, background information and so on to minimize fragmentation, to get that better picture of the overall universe.

its beyond any one person to get the full picture of the universe

a project to do this would involve a larger scope of information gathering and analysis, a specially designed computer to give all of us a better understanding of the universe
