What cold temperatures cause runny noses?
and is this connected with people getting colds and flu?

Is there any evidence that high temperatures cause less colds?
against colder temperatures causing more colds

Looking at the logic, cold weather would keep the nasal passages moist and therefore a better habitat for gems, whereas in hot weather the same nasal passages would be drier and therefore less attractive to micro-organisms.
antarctic crews usually get over all colds etc after a couple of months. they hate, not really but you get the idea, new arrivals cos they know they are in for another bout of colds.

I wonder if new arrivals could be acclimatized to colder air temps before they go to the poles
same for astronauts in space ?
I wonder how different temps effect colds from the equator to the poles
I’m guessing that people that live near the equator get less colds than people who live further away, syd melb, tas

you would have to just segregate them from non-crew so they would get over their colds and be “clean” when they went to the bases. colds have really nothing to do with cold weather as such.

I was wondering if a face mask could be designed for the purpose
a simple mask that keeps the warm air inside the nose etc

depending on how cold it is then the moisture you exhale would freeze. look at the beards etx of explorers in freezing climes.

Same thing happens at Kapooka when the northern and southern drafts first mix.

I’m wondering if a certain face mask design could keep everything in equilibrium

The Japanese swear by it.

Could you rephrase, please?

Yeah good idea, cos if your nose runs, and your feet smell, you are built upside down.
