Has anyone got one of these—like the ones you see on TV—I think there are a few makes—what type do you have and what price and what do you think if it.

Thanks

Is that one of those countertop ovens in bowl type things? My dad had one for years and loved it.

In summer, with a family of only 3, they make great sense to me. Would save lighting the oven and heating the entire house. In winter I cook most meals in the oven, just for the extra wee bit of heating LOL. But in summer – forget it.

I have an Easy Cook. It’s brilliant. I have 3 reasons for singing it’s praises …
1. I hate cleaning the oven and this is pretty much self cleaning.
2. It dosen’t heat up the kitchen like the oven .
3. It cooks a roast and vegies beautifully.

I haven’t tried to use it for anything else. The roast is enough justification for me.
I don’t remember how much it was … it was a few years ago … but it’s definately worth it …. and I bought it from the Good Guys.

my sister has also used hers for biscuits and scones etc. she only lights ups the fuel stove in winter, if then, so it is basically the only “oven” she uses.

I should try some other cooking in it. I don’t really do much in the way of cakes etc but could try my Christmas shortbread. Hmmmm ………

Well I used the one my friend bought last night —cooked a small chook and Vegs—not impressed—the chook had to be flatened out to fit—and when I followed the instructions—it took quite a long time ( I thought they said they were quick) and the chook was still quite pale—I had to cook it at a higher temp than they said for a longer time—to make the skin even a bit brown—also I find it quite heavy and rather awkward. The Vegs were nice though—but no quicker than the oven—maybe not as quick.

What a shame. What brand is it and did you use the lowest rack? I can fit a reasonably sized leg and vegies in mine enough to feed 4.
