Subject: Starting holidays and new patch

Mornin All,

Today if the first day of 2 weeks off YEY and my new patch is starting to take shape.
Mr M chopped 2 trees and has started on the fencing….that’s been the big hold up, keeping the dogs out!! So lets see how far we get this weekend. Star pickets are in and corner posts and wire are next.
The hard part…..dodging the plague of march flies. Had them this bad 5 years ago.
Has anyone else got them bad or any ideas how to keep them off you?

Ok, so this is what we’ve been up to…first step… 2 trees had to come down, making the whole area too shady and dropping honky nuts.

Gosh, what a beautiful spot :) I’d feel like I was on holidays permanently if I could walk outside and see that… although I guess that feeling wears off when you have heaps of work to do :)

Thanks Bon…no the feeling doesn’t wear off. I feel so lucky on my way home from work knowing where home is.
The patch will be a bit of work, but it’s ‘fun’ work so it doesn’t feel like ‘real’ work, if you know what I mean. And I’ve promised myself if I don’t feel like doing anything out there, then I won’t. I never want it to feel like work.

That’s an awesome approach to have :)

Ok last but not least….Mr M got the gate on today…minus the latch, cause I bought the wrong one :(
The back posts have 2 rows on fencing wire to make a good support for my future passionfruits that will hide the ugly wood shed…I hope.
So I’ve got some bricks to collect for garden beds and then I gotta find my Esther Dean’s book :)

gate's on
