Mr D drank all our stores of port over the winter…I tried to tell him port does not go off… he even drank the Grandfather Port that I bought him (for when he becomes a grandpa in maybe 10 years time) so I am not buying him another…but I do need some port for the trifle…sigh

This is going to sound morbid, but….

This time of year can bring out some dark days in some people, so if you are feeling low please tell someone.

The local Police Sgt went into the armory today and shot himself with his pistol.

I didn’t know him personally, but there are a lot of people very shocked that he (in his senior position) did this. You just don’t know who is feeling low, it could be the person next to you.

I was restricted as to how much I could bring .. I was told, just the cake..because they thought I would go overboard. Now whatever makes them think that! lol.
(I’ll have to sneak the pav ,trifle and mars bar cheesecake in through the side door hehehe )

Well at this stage I’m going to be a loner tomorrow.

Big Christmas meals are inedible to me (because of my banding) and seeing I’m a vegetarian sitting down to a huge roast spread to eat a baked potato and a bit of salad seems pretty silly.

On a brighter note I just filled in an online application to be a trainee locomotive driver, a position here in town. Train drivers in WA are keenly sought and it’s a well paid job. I probably won’t get it (and it won’t be the end of the world if I don’t), but you never know.. LOL

Merry Christmas all. Our daughter, son-in-law and new granddaughter arrived late today for their first overnight stay. Our son is also here overnight.

Son had a lovely time out in the garden late this afternoon digging spuds and despite us all having had way to mmuch food at lunch time, he decided that we have a plate of chips for dinner. Boy they taste good when they are fresh like that.

I only arrived home last night (came home from daughter’s via Canberra). Boy what a difference a week and half makes. Hubby has been unable to to get into the garden while I have been away and it has been overtaken by weeds…sigh. Also a lot of fruit on the trees was blown off with by the wind…such a shame
