This church has had some interesting messages on their notice board over the years, the current one reads

Drive in Sunday for tune up Full Service
Heart repairs a speciality
No appointment necessary.

A previous notice

Best vitamin for a Christian is B1

There have been lots over the years, must see if I can find others, and for the record I am an Agnostic.

I’m not religious, agnostic or atheist.

Im straight, single, visual artist, I have aspergers, depression, use cannabis to fight off anger and suicidal thoughts.

this means regular use, harm minimizing techniques, cooling hot smoke, filtering larger particles etc

anyway, apart from that, life is ok, a girlfriend would be nice, Id like to move a bit further out, semi attached housing, do some painting, sit on the veranda and wonder about the universe,

I like coming up with ideas

I like science

I dont like politics

I dont like religion either

So, I wont be going to church

There are a lot of church signs like that around. One or two in neighbouring Cheltenham.

My understanding is that an Agnostic neither believes nor disbelieves in the existence of a god or gods.

Agnosticism

Agnosticism is the view that the truth values of certain claims – especially metaphysical and religious claims, such as whether God, the divine, or the supernatural exist – are unknown and perhaps unknowable.

According to the philosopher William L. Rowe, “agnosticism is the view that human reason is incapable of providing sufficient rational grounds to justify either the belief that God exists or the belief that God does not exist”. Agnosticism is a doctrine or set of tenets rather than a religion as such.

An atheist is one who rejects belief in a god or gods, so technically most agnostics are also atheists. But some agnostics insist that they’re not atheists.

I find it hard to believe in something invisible, unknowable, that has no proof of existence, as an observer, I have observed nothing indicating Gods existence, I observe that religion and God appear to be man made, I observe that we are within a Universe and cannot escape from it, the big bang seems the most reliable course to pursue, I see religious politicians as poor observers, I also see religious politicians interfering with human rights issues and creating erroneous, unethical and unjust laws.

With the amount of carnage they caused to police vehicles in three states I’d be amazed if the death toll wasn’t in least in double figures.

Your Sunday Smile
A blonde finds herself in serious trouble. Her business has gone bust and she’s in dire financial straits. She’s desperate so she decides to ask God for help.

She begins to pray. “God, please help me, I’ve lost my business and if I don’t get some money, I’m going to lose my house as well. Please let me win the lottery.”

Lottery night comes, and somebody else wins.

She again prays. “God, please let me win the lottery! I’ve lost my business, my house and I’m going to lose my car as well.”

Lottery night comes and she still has no luck.

Once again, she prays. “My god, why have you forsaken me? I’ve lost my business, my house and my car. I don’t often ask You for help and I’ve always been a good servant to You. PLEASE let me win the lottery just this one time so I can get my life back in order.”

Suddenly there is a blinding flash of light as the heavens open.

The blonde is overwhelmed by the Voice of God, Himself.

“Sweetheart, work with Me on this ….. Buy a ticket.”
