after reading that article you may not be conscious while wakeful.
in a related article
Insight into the Seat of Human Consciousness

the page is delivering the we contagion, and it also has that nasty enthusiasm to eliminate mysteries.
it should come with a health warning.

Is it possible to speed up thinking and dreaming, speed up consciousness but keep talking at a normal speed
and it also has that nasty enthusiasm to eliminate mysteries.
damn science doing shit like that. lets remain ignorant.

They usually work in groups, hence the We, their colleagues

People usually connect things together, almost like neural networks, but larger and different

not quite rarely enough
>People usually connect things together, almost like neural networks, but larger and different
people do lots of things, sometimes individuals resist generalizations too.

For me, talking and thinking are mutually exclusive, but I have met people who can think while they’re talking. So it may be possible for them.
Come to think of it. For me, listening and thinking go together. But perhaps, for people who can think while they’re talking, they can’t think and listen at the same time.

of clickjacking… yeah
Haven’t yet read the article, but it seems to me that if they are saying that people are (or can be) conscious during dreamless sleep, they must be using the word “conscious” to mean something totally different to what I understand the word to mean.

There is a single point to the article, and it’s just conjecture not proven fact.
What the article does not dispute, and nobody disputes, is that:
1. Auditory processing continues during dreamless sleep.
2. People can sleepwalk during dreamless sleep.
3. Dreamless sleep is used for thinking involving memory processing and even imagery that is not associated with dreams.
What the article conjectures is that while deep sleep is occurring, the person asleep is consciously aware that they are asleep. This is pure conjecture because “no current evidence shows that people can become aware of being asleep when they are not dreaming”. It likens this type of dreamless sleep to meditation.
Another thrust of the article is that dreamless sleep may be divided time-wise into multiple different types of dreamless sleep. Again, this is conjecture.
All this brings to mind an earlier study showing that the brain is hyperactive during anaesthesia.
