Come one, come all…
Australia is likely to name five changes to the team that got their arses handed to them in Hobart, three are debutantes, batsmen Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb and Nic Maddinson (replacing Joe Burns, Adam Voges and Callum Ferguson), with the other two being Matthew Wade (in for Peter Nevill) and Jackson Bird (in for Joe Mennie).
This will be the 12 consecutive test match were Australia has named a different side from their previous test.
How bad will it be?? Only time will tell…

It was done deliberately by all reports, because Warner was off the ground fielding and couldn’t bat till he’d made up the time off. They declared with a few minutes left before Warner could bat, to force the Aussies to rejig the batting line-up and force one of the debutantes to open.
Clever thinking.

Might be a blessing in disguise, Kawaja and Renshaw might be the opening pair Australia has been looking for.
The received wisdom has always been that you bat your best batsman at 3, that would be Smith.
Warner could do some serious damage at 4 or 5.

Yeah. One thing that’s changed over recent years is that commentators seem to think that they have to fill up all the dead air as if it’s radio.

Why a duck?
Origin of the term
The term is a shortening of the term “duck’s egg”, the latter being used long before Test cricket began. When referring to the Prince of Wales’ (the future Edward VII) score of nought on 17 July 1866, a contemporary newspaper wrote that the Prince “retired to the royal pavilion on a “duck’s egg”“.
The name is believed to come from the shape of the number “0” being similar to that of a duck’s egg, as in the case of the American English slang term “goose-egg” popular in baseball and the tennis term “love,” derived from French l’oeuf (“the egg”). The Concise Oxford Dictionary still cites “duck’s egg” as an alternative version of the term.

Warner’s not holding back. I think he wants to get 100+ of the 127.

I don’t think there was a run there even for the very fast Warner. So I guess Warner. I don’t think he’ll see it that way though.

We need a new tactic for quick singles other than hitting it directly to a fielder and hoping he misfields it.

He does need to find another speed. There was absolutely no urgency in this situation.

Not a high order
(But then again, warner and smith are mediocre batsmen and they stick with them)

Renshaw went for 10 and was very lucky not to go for a duck in the 2nd… how is that ‘keeping his head’?

Try to remember how all the other big batsmen went out for a duck. Even Bradman wasn’t immune.

Wtf would you bring up bradman? Whether he got out for a duck or not has nothing to do with how good or shit renshaw is.
My 10year old nephew scored 12 on the weekend.. by your reasoning, he’s better than bradman…

Good to see Lyon back in the wickets column. He bowled much better after he got that first wicket. He needs to slow down and throw it up more instead of just bowling darts.
