This was super critical in Melbourne during the days of 6 oclock closing and late on a Saturday as the pubs were also shut on sunday!

Yes, but not multiple clocks, for example climate change could never wipe out humanity.

The doomsday clock was set wrongly in the year 2010. 2009 was the first ever year of unilateral nuclear disarmament by the USA. It was also moved forward by the wrong amounts in 1995, 1998 etc. Because the end of the cold war in 1990 hugely outweighed the minor tensions between India and Pakistan. Ditto the minor tensions between North and South Korea.
