Could you use Wikipedia to create a mind map?

Start from any topic and then follow all the links in turn to create the mind map?

The propedia of Encyclopedia Britannica is essentially a mind map of everything, as it existed back in the 1970s.

You’re right, but why not, I copied it straight off the address bar. Perhaps the sea diphthong is mucking things up.

One way in is to follow this link and the click on the Propaedia link from that.

Another way in ought to be an automatic redirection from https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propedia

mind maps of mind maps

Im seeing mind maps as information maps that can be hierarchically structured to visually link related topics

depending on the software, this could be 3 dimensional, able to turn other links, associations on and off, add articles, databases images etc

I like the study of information itself as a subject.

Both Wikipedia and Britannica should offer information mapping as a feature that uses all the information in their databases.

Wiki or Britannica links could be headings in any mind map.

There could be public mind maps or private mind maps.

Different ways to use existing information starting from a top down approach to expand headings subheadings into related articles.

Teachers could paint mind maps to suit any of their teaching needs.

Learning could be sped up as anyone could get a wide view of the topic to see related topics.

While doing the astronomy mind map I learnt over forty – fifty new terms in one day.

Yes, Wikipedia and Brittanica should consider added it in as a feature

there must be many other ways to interface with those two databases

if you look at coggle gallery

https://coggle.it/gallery

all those could be information maps with clickable links to those articles and subjects, any related subjects could appear as well

all those subheadings pretty much now have articles in Wikipedia and Britannica

others could fall back to dictionary meanings if not available

either a third party mind mapping program could do it

or Wikipedia and Britannica could build it into their websites

the awesome version of coggle has these features

Unlimited private diagrams
Full chat history
Auto-arrange branches
Join Branches
Shared folders
Presentation mode
High-res image uploads
More colours

for 5 month or 50 dollars a year

coggle paid version doesnt have clickable headings as links to articles or topics

Ill look around at other mind mapping software

maybe some have clickable headings as links

that might be a start
