The Universe is losing dark matter, and researchers have finally measured how much

Researchers from Russia have, for the first time, been able to measure the amount of dark matter the Universe has lost since the Big Bang some 13.7 billion years ago, and calculate that as much as 5 percent of dark matter could have deteriorated.

Does that mean we are in for a bright future?

These findings could go some way in explaining the historical timeline discrepancies between biblical records and the various anthropogenic scientific theories that at first blush seem to be out by some way.
The probable time dilations from gravitational and dark matter/energy fluctuations could be the starting point.

From the very earliest dark matter causing galaxy rotation days there has been a theory that dark matter could be its own antimatter. In which case dark matter could be lost by hitting itself causing bursts of gamma rays.

Searches for these gamma rays have given peculiar results. The intensity of gamma rays has been far too small for annihilation to explain galaxy rotation curves, but some unexplained gamma rays have been found that could have come from dark matter annihilation.

From link in OP:

“This variance was significantly more than margins of error and systematic errors known to us”

False. The measured variance in cosmological parameters over the age of the universe is less than two sigma. Which is well within possible statistical limits.

So this new Russian work is based on a false premise. There is no evidence yet that the universe is losing dark matter.
