I think there needs to be a new web standard for readability

points should be taken off for White Backgrounds to read text on

Points off whenever the font size for numbers doesn’t match the font size for text (eg. Wikipedia)

Points off when text is too small or too large.

Points off for each web page that doesn’t contain a mathematical equation.

Points of for each web page that doesn’t contain at least one relevant image.

Points off for every text background other than a plain one.

Points off for the holiday forum because the left column is blank until “by time” or “by topic” is clicked, and even then initially runs the left column off archive on android.

Points off for frames.

Points off for curvy or archaic fonts.

Points off for all images that can’t be right-clicked.

Points off for text placed in image files instead of in html text.

Points off for images with “sample only” or similar scrawled all over the front.

Points off for “artists impression”.

No points at all for a web page where advertising takes up more than 1/4 of the total space.

For last one, I mean for instance a company home page that consists only of saying how great the company is. Or vague “feel good” platitudes that few people would disagree with. For example: “Our country must contribute to world peace.”
