Drones that clean up rubbish along the sides of roads etc

Drones can clean hospital floors much better than humans

Drones that deliver hot cappuccinos.

Drones could pick up prescriptions and deliver them

I suggested about 4-6 months ago for a drone that captures bird noises, how there is one, but work needs to be done to make it quieter for recording.

At one time there was talking of drones delivering pizzas. Wouldn’t work around my area; too close to an airport.

…And that too. There’s been a few muggings on pizza delivery bike riders around the area.

Now you’re thinking.

For many years I have been wanting to find people that clean hospital floors much faster than at present.
Last emergency room I went to they just asked a visitor to drop an adult diaper on the vomit and left it there. Someone stepped in it while I was watching. Previously I had to call the nurses over to clean up some shit that’d left on the floor.

Hospitals are notoriously understaffed. Drones would help but they’d only be really efficient if utilised while there was no visitor traffic.

Oh bullshit.

Hospitals have too many staff. Nurses can’t walk around a hospital without tripping over some other nurse’s feet. Every inpatient is assigned a minimum of five doctors sequentially who don’t talk to one another so the patient has to answer the same set of questions five times, and gets contradictory information from each doctor. Not one of the doctors is prepared to make any decision. Nurses refuse to help at least 80% of the time that they’re asked to do something. Add to that some nurses prepared to browbeat visitors for a solid hour or more. Any patient who is at risk of dying draws in all the nurses from all the other wards who just stand around doing nothing for an hour.

Cut the paperwork. Allow and encourage all staff to make quick decisions. Read the chart. No “it’s not my job”. Halve the staff. Speed up communications. Hire a gofer.

Redesign the hospital so you don’t need a high IQ to negotiate the maze. Immediately separate infectious from non-infectious patients. And eliminate hospital-acquired-diseases.

In robot wars, one combatant developed the successful strategy of taking down drones with a garden rake.
