Use the interconnecting glass corridor idea for joining small houses like these together.

Different spaces.
you could have all outbuildings, experience the sunshine, rain, wind and all between, but then they wouldn’t be outbuildings because an outbuilding needs a main building.
My home is/was two separate buildings (now 4). One is very large single room that comprises kitchen, dining and lounge areas. The other building is a little larger; it is the bedroom wing, and comprises three bedrooms (main with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, office, library, and large combined bathroom-laundry. The two buildings were linked by an uncovered, rotten timber deck – most inconvenient in a climate that averages 1500 mm rain annually. About 800 mm is the highest recorded one-day rainfall here.
We’ve changed that two-building design. The two buildings are now linked by fly-over rooves and a large non-square deck with a concrete floor. The deck also links to the new carport (which will also double as an overflow outdoor entertaining area). The carport is attached to the new large workshop.

So you think you will be happy
with glass tunnels for a walk
and your semi-detached suburban Neu-trin-Ohhh?
What I like about the idea of 3 semi detached rooms is that if people need their own space, say for a working studio or as barrier if a domestic argument occurs happens, or for mental health reasons, that one / or both partners can retreat to their own space, while still sharing the main kitchen lounge dinning laundry areas, kitchenettes small food areas could be built into bed/studio spaces, the three rooms could be built around a central triangular courtyard which would be private, and create a garden area for relaxation.

Ah, I can hear the hail damage.
I like my houses to have two zones of living, the one I had built for myself (sold long ago) had separate sleeping and living quarters with two doors in between to keep the sounds from the living area out of the sleeping area. What I need now would be better as three zones of living, with music teaching as far from the living and sleeping areas as possible.
My present place is built a bit like a quadrant, with the kitchen at the apex of the quadrant. The purpose being that anyone in the kitchen can simultaneously watch the front yard, driveway, back yard, lounge room, and the entrances to all three bedrooms and bathroom.
Home designs have not changed much have they?
Technology certainly has changed.
But you still see conventional homes going up.
What considerations are given to individual privacy?
Conventional homes don’t seem to be built for privacy needs.
I could have double / triple layer ceramic tiles over the roof, and channel the hot air upwards using solar powered fans.

Really growing tired of privacy invasion.

What’s the point of having glass walls then?

suction cup rods?
so from the outside it looks like an octopus exploded inside?…

No, this is actual privacy invasion, subtle but constant.
Might need to discuss the matter with Public Housing.

How do you know she is looking at you if you’re not staring back at her at the same time?

Agree, agree, agree, none, agree.
It’s all a bit weird. The only real changes in construction are those related to speed of construction. CSIRO building technology centre turned down a lot of applications for approval of lightweight building panels. Probably all of them.
So technology has not advanced anywhere near as fast as it could have.
And there are reasons for that. Buildings us up a lot of material, so the materials used for construction are the cheapest possible. Bricks from mud. Concrete from limestone. Cheapest acceptable timber. A few gang nails and nail guns for speed. Glass from sand. No plastics. Gyprock from gypsum. Minimal aluminum.
