Because I wear glasses and often rather than take them off, I drop them over the front of the loupe, saves from the weight of the glasses lifted for the loupe, dropping back and knocking the loupe out of the eye. Yes I used to have a loupe attached to the glasses but hey, top heavy isn’t practical and I broke that ages ago.

Lots. What are you wanting to look at?

Fine filing, fine grinding, electronic circuits etc.

Well, depending on your eyes, you should be OK with a pair of the headband binocular magnifiers Most of these have at least two or up to four magnification possibilities. Including of course, what your spectacles do.

You get to see the difference in a LED and filment lights at the redoubt.
Turn on a LED light and it doesn’t even show on the metres, turn on the filment light, I’ve only got one(to be replaced), and the Watts jump to 45 or so.
The filment light is better but not that better.

There is another difference. One emits more heat and less light than the other.

Yeah but try a frew before you choose. Get the ones that suit you well enough to forget they are on.

Thanks for the advice.

:)

I’ve purchased them with four choices for magnification for $15.

mv (yes, I did say goodnight, I went reading journals and came back)

Eschenbach do a nice little thing that clips onto your glasses. Not cheap. Do you have a local optometrist? They may be able to get it in on approval for you to look at. I have a trial set for it at my practice, so we clip in the different powers until we find the appropriate one for what the person wants to do

It doesn’t have a light (obviously) but it is portable.

Might use 0024+1654 later today, and it has its own light source as well.

That might be a bit heavy for my type of work. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I take my glasses off. That gives me a magnification of 5 dioptre in the left eye and 4.25 dioptre in the right eye.

I sometimes use Jaycar helping hands for electronics soldering work, but usually without the magnifier.
