It’s Official: There Are Now 12 New Cloud Types to Fall in Love With

It’s not every day that the world officially recognises a new species of cloud, but then again, this has been no ordinary week.

Is Fracto, ie. Cumulofractonimbus, one of them? No? Still missing out some then.

Ta, I’ve always wanted to know what a “virga” was.

Let’s see if I can guess.
cataractagenitus – made by a waterfall
flammagenitus – made by a bush fire
homogenitus – manmade
silvagenitus – made by evapotranspiration from forests
homomutatus – changed by human activity
