March for Science: Protesters gather worldwide to support ‘evidence’

(CNN)Crowds massed in the US capital and around the world Saturday to support science and evidence-based research — a protest partly fueled by opposition to President Donald Trump’s threats of budget cuts to agencies funding scientists’ work.

At the main March for Science, demonstrators gathered at Washington’s National Mall to hear speakers laud science as the force moving humanity forward, and rail against policymakers they say are ignoring fact and research in areas including climate change.

We need a separate extinction clock to the doomsday clock

better accuracy then

one can reflect nuclear catastrophe

the other can reflect climate change

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_Clock

The Doomsday Clock is a symbol which represents the likelihood of a human-caused global catastrophe. Maintained since 1947 by the members of The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists’ Science and Security Board, the Clock, which hangs on a wall in The Bulletin’s office in the University of Chicago, represents an analogy for the threat of global nuclear war. Since 2007, it has also reflected climate change and new developments in the life sciences and technology that could inflict irrevocable harm to humanity.

If one was to list all the achievements of science it would be a very very long list.

The extinction clock would reflect

climate change

deforestation

over farming

over fishing the oceans

over population

dwindling fertile areas

pollution

mining activity

levels of pollution in the air

any threats to the environment

levels of chemicals and metals in the ocean

levels of plastic in the ocean

and so on

into what is sustainable

based on real evidence

something governments don’t seem to like

especially rich people and dumb corporations

To physics the universe is information

the planet is information

more information leads to better statistics

real information is needed to monitor to health of the planet

this can only be done with reliable information

not information that is corrupt or misleading

we here know all this

but around 60 – 80 percent of the population don’t appear to

what would be the figure of all world governments combined?

not just awareness of climate change but everything else thats on the above List

We need real data flows from all that information so we can work out the local and global environment to human sustainability ratio.

No we don’t. The nuclear menace still ranks number one for human extinction within two years.

Do you think a nuclear war would literally make humans extinct?

Might neutralise co2 emissions.

Maybe, if Kim Jong Il starts throwing the No Dong around.

The doomsday clock was set up for nuclear catastrophe

trying to fit

climate change
deforestation
over farming
over fishing the oceans
over population
dwindling fertile areas
pollution
mining activity
levels of pollution in the air
levels of chemicals and metals in the ocean
levels of plastic in the ocean

into a few minutes on a nuclear clock is concealing too much information

We need a separate extinction clock

Donald Trump wants to shut off an orbiting space camera that monitors climate change

Why is the satellite’s job being cut? No justification is given in the president’s new budget, but cost is probably not part of it. Last year, NASA forecast the work of operating the satellite and processing its data would cost $1.2 million in 2018, a sliver of Trump’s overall NASA budget request of $19.1 billion. In fact, it was the space agency’s second cheapest ongoing earth sciences program.

and besides, why fund something that monitors something that doesn’t exist? Yes folks, we don’t have a climate, it is all hot air.
