I am happy to be home doing family things today. I am happy to still be in bed typing knowing I don’t have to go out and do things today if I don’t want to.

Thanks :D

I am the proud mother of two sons who have been through more than they should have been through. The highlights of my life have been birthing them. Amazing stuff.

Happy Mum’s Day to all the mothers.

Why, thank you.

Today Mr Speedy made me a proper coffee and Little Speedy gave me a box of unwrapped chocolates with no card. Speedy Jnr did not acknowledged that it is MD. I then wrapped MIL’s present creatively in pink and purple, but despite Mr Speedy’s request, refused to write out her card.

In-laws came over and took Little Speedy to have a go at table tennis and I did my 2 hours of volunteering, then wrote an email. I am sure to spend the rest of the day nagging Speedy Jnr to finish his Machu Picchu assignment, which I think is quite a motherly thing to do :/

Will now call my own mother, who took off up the coast in her caravan for a fortnight. She invited us all up there for the weekend on Thursday (stating she would pay for a cabin stay for us all) and seemed offended that we had kids’ sporting commitments and MD plans with the in-laws already.

Aw :(

My old blue & white water jug that lives by the pooter desk was one of my MD gifts for my mum. She always used to say that we only gave her nice things so we could inherit them :)

If you gave my Nan anything like that she’d say it was a present for the house not her.

My mum took that attitude to purely practical things but not things chosen for their visual charm.

As she said when she first heard the news, “I don’t know if I want to get sick again to try to be better”.

The only side effect my SIL has is she seems to get bad colds leading to laryngitis.

Can’t blame her. I hope she does indeed get better without getting too sick again.

The doktars told her that her remissions hadn’t been holding long enough despite undergoing a trial program that has shown clearly why it is still a trial and basically told her, you are booked in for this. The only way out is to refuse the treatment.

A problem she is worried about is that she has had a persisting cough that the doktars told he is non treatable because it seems to be a virus. Her lungs scanned clean enough. but there is always that worry that lymphoma can spread to the lungs.

Just talked to my youngest son for an hour. He makes me so proud. So much wisdom, and such a deep voice. I’ll catch up with my eldest son tomorrow.

I miss them both.

I told he to close her eyes and meditate on the visualisation of herself on a tropical island with her every need close at hand..

For blood tests they had to get a doc to make an incision in mz Tamb’s neck. Only place possible other than her groin & that was problematical.

So far they have not opted for a central line. Maybe they will go there yet but I have no new info on this.
