can’t you regraft it?

i have done that before for people who cut the budded branch from the stock when pruning.

and I would think I need to stake them for a while?

whoops, I thought that line would wrap???

While we are talking about staking.. can anyone post some general rules on when to stake and when not to?

I remember before I started gardening, I heard somewhere that a lot of the time staking is detrimental, not to stake young gum trees etc so they will develop strong root systems and become flexible.

I overreacted to this and when I got this garden, pulled stakes out all over the place… whoops :D

I have since learnt a few things:
- chillis need staking
- grafted fruit trees might need staking (since they’re already quite tall when you put them in)

What else? Apart from the obvious creeping/crawling type plants… I guess top-heavy standards and things, but the last of these in my garden have popped their clogs already :D

I hve taped up the stalk and it was not completely severed and fingers crossed it may survive, and Yes Dinitta, had a lovely meal and a nice long spa and some nice wind and company and fel much better today, stuffed but better LOL

maybe a splint for the stalk will help provide some support.
