It’s so arty. I mean that. I know artists that work like this..
I remember when I had to talk about Roland Barthes and Myth I chose to talk about the Myth of Einstein’s brain. It had been chopped up into lots of pieces, sent everywhere, and studied. On the most part it was a normal brain. The only thing that set it apart was the connection between the glials in that very connective white bit of brain.
Anyway..ta. Good read/watch.

I wonder if it will help neurosurgeons know where to cut more precisely.
I was told that my cow-killing mad biker brother in Perth had diffuse axonal injury… a shearing injury to many of those miniscule axons. Pretty common if your head along with the rest of you goes bouncing down the road 100+Kph.. I guess he was relatively lucky…
“Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is a brain injury in which damage in the form of extensive lesions in white matter tracts occurs over a widespread area. DAI is one of the most common and devastating types of traumatic brain injury, and is a major cause of unconsciousness and persistent vegetative state after severe head trauma. It occurs in about half of all cases of severe head trauma and may be the primary damage that occurs in concussion. The outcome is frequently coma, with over 90% of patients with severe DAI never regaining consciousness. Those who do wake up often remain significantly impaired.
DAI can occur in every degree of severity from very mild or moderate to very severe. Concussion may be a milder type of diffuse axonal injury.”

“This fourth iteration of the robot is the smallest the team has developed and it can now fit inside an MRI scanner’s slim tunnel. Five-meter (16.4-ft) long air-pipes run to an external controller, allowing the robot to be directed from outside the MRI. Preliminary tests show the robot can target tissue with sub-millimeter precision when equipped with an MRI compatible needle, a degree of accuracy that would be impossible for a human operator to achieve.”
I suppose that sort of answers that.
