interesting field of thought I guess, the complicated territory though is the overlap (or relationship) between habituation (or dehabituating whatever) and tasks that require a constant re-effort. Some things sort of require constant effort, just to hold the subtleties of them in mind.

my best guess is that habituated can be loosened, but the subtleties of the re-effort and motivation for some (types of) tasks might be lost with it.

in moderation it may have some benefits, more therapeutic than petrol sniffing.

there’s the question of when a neuro-chemical dysruptor becomes a chemical and neurological insult.
