Subject: Update on the Paris non Agreement

Firstly; Over all, 1,600 coal plants are planned or under construction in 62 countries, according to Urgewald’s tally, which uses data from the Global Coal Plant Tracker portal. The new plants would expand the world’s coal-fired power capacity by 43 percent.”with nearly half of those plants being built by Chinese Companies.

China is planning to build more than twice as many coal plants in the next decade as the U.S. has in operation today.

China is allowed to increase future CO2 emissions by as much as it wants until year 2030 and even in that year no commitment to any future reduction is provided.

By that time its emissions will probably be at least triple those of the U.S.

India’s INDC openly admits that it intends to increase its electricity supply by more than triple between now and 2030, with no commitment whatsoever as to how much of that will come from fossil fuels. India like China enjoys the same absurd Paris Climate Agreement pass on emissions reduction and has no CO2 reduction requirements through year 2030 with no reduction requirements provided even after that date.

President Trump demanded and obtained a clear statement of the U.S. rejection of the Paris Climate Agreement and just as important a statement recognizing the appropriate role of efficient use of fossil fuels as an energy resource for the future with both these statements contained in the “Final Communique” of the G20 summit.

The U.S. will no longer be wasting tens of billions of dollars funding the UN’s absurd slush fund euphemistically called the “Green Climate Fund” which was nothing but a politically driven wealth redistribution scheme.
This has had an immediate effect -

Erdogan said that when Turkey signed the accord France had promised that Turkey would be eligible for compensation for some of the financial costs of compliance.

“So we said if this would happen, the agreement would pass through parliament. But otherwise it won’t pass,” Erdogan told a news conference, adding that parliament had not yet approved it.

“Therefore, after this step taken by the United States, our position steers a course towards not passing this from the parliament,” he said.

Germany has driven its electricity rates through the roof with mandated use of costly and unreliable renewables while stupidly forcing its nuclear plants to close through misguided political edict and ended up using more coal which is increasing its CO2 emissions.

Germany is part of the supposed EU commitment to reduce emissions by 40% below 1990 levels by 2030. Oh, but now that Germany has gotten its electricity production from renewables up to about 30%, it seems that it has hit a wall, and its carbon emissions have actually gone up for both of the last two years (2015 and 2016), according to Clean Energy Wire. Exactly how do they plan to meet their goal? Excellent question.

Lefty toyboy nutcase Macron controlled France is gun ho on emissions reduction of course, as over 76% of their electricity is nuclear.

But he’s apparently going to enforce a total ban on fossil fueld vehicles in France by,,wait for it,,,2040. What a hero.

Oh, and,The Japanese government is moving ahead with its plans to build up to 45 new coal fired power stations.

Japan plans 45 new high-energy, low-emissions HELE coal fired power plants. ( ABC News )
The power plants will utilise high energy, low emissions (HELE) technology that use high-quality black coal.

Japan is the largest overseas market for Australian coal producers, taking more than a third of all exports.

I think they belong to the Queen actually, but she lets us use them as we see fit in the interests of everybody, so they are supposed to belong to everybody.
