Up at Bundi Mission, high up above Madang on the old road to Chimbu, the Catholics built a super Mission. Recently, GF and I stayed in this massive Mission with Sister Roselyn and I admired her garden.

Following is 18 slides of some really pretty flower found in the garden of the Bundi Mission. Enjoy :)

Very nice, PM. Lovely colours there. I was surprised that they grow roses there, but I don’t know why. Likewise the Dahlias, I guess they don’t seem exotic enough to me to be living there. :)

Bundi Mission is 2,200metres above sea level so it was cold and wet up there… relatively speaking.

high standards of photography there PM.
i can’t imagine what the nuns make of you and your camera. …..this bearded bloke lost somewhere between flowers and camera focus ?
the mountain air and the perfect european flower specimens are a bit incongruous with our image of PNG.

pepe, we kinda arrived at the Nun’s house during a quiet spell, 2 of the resident Nuns were off on a conference leaving the large Catholic Mission to GF, myself and Sister Roselyn. It was a huge place which would sleep easily 100 people and only the three of us stayed there in the dark (no electricity). Sr Roselyn would move between doorways as if there were portals in each room, and she moved with an air and grace that only a Niuginian woman in a habit could move.

One night in that Mission has proved to me that ghosts do not exist, unless Sr Roselyn’s mysterious movements were more ethereal than I remember…
