An important part of our history has been lost, and I for one are sad and angry, how do you feel about this?

Ta.
RDNS helps old farts like myself stay in their own homes a bit longer and out of nurseing homes don’t grow old, there is no future in it.

Their website states that they have joined forces with RSL Care and been renamed Bolton Clarke.
How does the service they offer differ from what RDNS offered before?

It’s private industry now, Speedy.
It’s an unquestioned article of faith that private industry always does it better, even when they don’t do it one jot differently.
There doesn’t seem to be any change yet.

Wasn’t it private under RDNS also? It was a not-for-profit organisation, as is Bolton Clarke.

There you go, then.
So why did the change occur I wonder?

Maybe RDNS and RSL Care were providing an identical service and they figured they could lower combined costs if they joined forces. Maybe they provided different services that, when combined, could offer a better experience for their clients.
I really don’t know, Bob, but don’t assume that it’s a backward step. I hope you are pleasantly surprised when the dust settles.
I presume they have been forced down this path by being put in competition to provide their services alongside big commercial players since the National Disability Support framework allowed ‘Clients’ to choose their own agencies?
There’s a few agencies in the same position (Yoralla, Anglicare etc.). Some of them will be viewed as a great loss, others are so utterly corrupt and inept that their management really should be facing gaol time.

There are taxpayers to be reamed…I mean, it’s all about choice and care…

Providing all the care your type II Diabetic arse needs is going to be easier, if not cheaper, than regulating the fast food industry.
;-)
I’ve heard bad things said about RDNS, something about more and more rules about what RDNS nurses weren’t permitted to do.
Hope privitisation solves the problems.

Privitisation always solves all the problems, Moll. Ask any government minister, anywhere. Ask any shadow minister, anywhere.
