That’s a very pretty Hippy – such a nice pattern on the petals.

You clever girl. Now whatever you do don’t move it. I’m so glad someone managed to prove that they flower.

It badly needs repotting, the mix has really shrunk.

It will love it Bubba. I’ve seen them grow in 2 inches of soil, with the bulb fully exposed. I’m not suggesting you go that far but they still perform under those conditions.

Mine flowers nearly every year…well it has for the past two years that I’ve actually kept it watered on a regular basis…

One day they’re just “struggling” and the next there’s this stalk thing with buds on it…when are we supposed to divide hippi’s by the way? I thought it was after flowering, during the cold weather when they are dormant???

And my autumn crocus are not flowering just yet… :(

Yep you divide them when they’re dormant but it’s not done every year.

My rain lily is covered in blooms. Poor thing is beside itself with all the rain happening round here.

Mine is trying to flower…such a shock as I thought it had died…there are the two bulbs in the pot…I doubt it will be as splendid as Bubba’s but one bloom is enough for me to keep the faith with this bulb…

It’s proof that it’s alive and kicking anyway.

I’ve been planting and replanting those bulbs for 20 years so they must be tough.

Oh no I’m not. Struggling with them ATM. It’s been very humid and showry/o.cast. Something they don’t seem to like much.

One of mine toppled out of its pot for no known reason, so I stuck it back in…do you think they might dislike the wet season?
