Subject: Religious Ideology

How does religious Ideology manifest itself in peoples behavior?

1 Does religious Ideology conflict with human rights?

2 Do religious people punish other people more than non religious people?

3 If God cannot be proved or disproved then is it difficult for religious people to be honest about it?

4 Religious texts are created by people.

5 With the above in mind, are religious politicians creating erroneous law and interfering with peoples rights?

I’d like to hear other examples .

Religious people are spending billions of human hours worshiping God. An entity that probably does not exist.

The whole field of religion is not in any way uniform. And at the same time it’s very uniform. Just one of the paradoxes.

Religion has been called “a way, a convenience, a kindness”

Postmodernism is compatible with religion, modernism was not. The loss of religion during modernism led to the formation of a spectacular number of cults. Another paradox.

Every religion starts out all-inclusive and ecumenical and becomes more fundamentalist over time. Fundamentalism then leads to seclusion and seclusion to corruption.

Religious people often believe that they have a monopoly on morality.

IMHO
The Church is exempt from paying taxes because the Church & State are in collusion to keep the peasants in line. One with a series of sheriffs & strong-arm types, the other by convincing ignorant peasants that “God is watching every thing they do!”

The church is also pretty handy for getting the working class to work for next to nothing, or giving up your first-born to die in wars for the State by Promising of “PIE-IN-The-SKY” … (rewards AFTER You DIE! X-P )

of course religious texts were written by man…even Moses hadda’ chip them in stone while “in the presents of God”
Moses (BTW was brought up as an Egyptian Prince, with a L-O-N-G History of using tricks & gimmicks to “Communicate” with “the gods” ((little ‘G’)) to keep people pulling big rocks across scorching sand for the good of the State. ((big “S”))

Anyway, as I see it, we have a need to believe there HAS To Be a Plan… A Reason for struggling despite a miserable existence … after all, we HAVE to be More-Than the rotting carcasses of the animals we think NOTHING of slaughtering & eating…(ColdCuts)

So through out history, man invents gods Who move the stars & influence the tides,
but as I see it, The only difference between Jupiter (Zeus) & Jehovah is that Jehovah (YHWH) is that Jehovah haS a better Ad Agency.
